چکیده

The case reports describes non surgical healing in periradicular lesions.A conservative approach with 5.25% sodium hypochlorite was used for irrigation, and calcium hydroxide was used for the intra-canal dressing and 2% chlorohexidine as a final irrigant. Periapical healing was observed 1 month after obturation and continued in the 12-month recall. This report confirms that the large size of a periapical lesion does not need surgical approach for healing, and that even cyst-like periapical lesions heal following a conservative endodontic therapy.

Nonsurgical endodontic treatment of teeth associated with large periapical lesion using triple antibiotic paste and mineral trioxide aggregate apical plug: A case series

Periapical diseases are induced as a result of the direct or indirect involvement of oral bacteria. The etiologic factor being the degenerating pulp tissue. A periapical lesion is formed within an area of apical periodontitis which cannot form by itself and is inflammatory in origin. If the microbial etiology of periapical lesions and in the root canal is removed by nonsurgical root canal thera...

Treatment of Large Periapical Cyst Like Lesion: A Noninvasive Approach: A Report of Two Cases

Periapical lesions develop as sequelae to pulp disease. Periapical radiolucent areas are generally diagnosed either during routine dental radiographic examination or following acute toothache. Various methods can be used in the nonsurgical management of periapical lesions: the conservative root canal treatment, decompression technique, active nonsurgical decompression technique, aspiration-irri...

Nonsurgical management of a large periapical lesion using aspiration in combination with a triple antibiotic paste and calcium hydroxide

Persistent microorganisms in the root canal are known to cause endodontic treatments failure. Overextended gutta-percha can also act as a periradicular tissue irritant, leading to large periapical lesions. Retrieval of overextended gutta-percha with a nonsurgical approach can prove to be a challenge. This case describes the nonsurgical management of a large periapical lesion associated with ove...

Nonsurgical Clinical Management of Periapical Lesions Using Calcium Hydroxide-Iodoform-Silicon-Oil Paste

Background The study aim is to avoid tooth extraction by nonsurgical treatment of periapical lesion. It assesses healing progress in response to calcium hydroxide-iodoform-silicon oil paste (CHISP). Numeric Pain Rating Scale was used to validate the approach. Furthermore, CHISP was used to treat cystic lesions secondary to posttraumatic avulsion of permanent teeth. Materials and Methods Over ...

Active nonsurgical decompression of large periapical lesions--3 case reports.

This paper describes a new nonsurgical approach for treating large periapical lesions which involves using a modified vacuum system within the root canal space. This new technique produces a vacuum effect in the periapical zone, which facilitates evacuation of large amounts of inflammatory fluids. This technique was used in 3 clinical cases, in which the patients presented with copious amounts ...
